School Day 100 Celebrated

Local schools celebrated the completion of the first 100 days of school by making crafts and greeting guests. At Dunsmore Elementary School, the kindergartners in Karen Nagao’s class celebrated 100 days of school on Jan. 31 by making headbands and cereal necklaces to help them count to 100. They were also treated to a very special guest – Zero the Hero – who came to class to count and sing with the students. Zero the Hero told the tale of how he befriended the numbers one through nine and, together, they were able to make bigger numbers. Zero the Hero showed his talent as he sang the popular chant, “Zero the Hero came to school” with all the students. Contributed by Wendy MAYNARD, Suzanne RISSE and Viehanoosh NAZARIAN
