ALF Announces Summer School Registration

Assistance League of Flintridge will open summer school online registration on Thursday, March 1 at 9 a.m. This is the 40th year that Assistance League has offered its summer school program. Enrichment classes will be offered for the joy of learning to students in grades one through eight from June 18 through July 13. Classes are offered in music, art, science, technology, cooking, math and writing.

In grades seven and eight, “Drawing and Painting” will now be offered. Students will immerse themselves in new techniques of illustrating based on the works of contemporary masters such as Picasso and Warhol.

At the elementary level, new classes this year include “Love for Lettering” for students in grades four through six and “Games Unplugged” for students in grades two and three. “Love for Lettering” will introduce students to multiple styles of hand lettering and provide new skills that can be used for student projects like poster design, notes and illustrations. In “Games Unplugged,” students will learn to play a variety of games as well as design their own games.

Classes for grades one through six will be held at La Cañada Elementary School and classes for grades seven and eight will be held on the La Cañada High School campus. Program fee is $165 per class. Students may take up to three classes.

Online registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The most popular classes fill up fast, so register early.
