Glendale Youth Orchestra Performs at Alex Theatre


The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, performs its second concert of the 29th Season on Sunday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale. The program includes Copland – Hoe-Down, from the ballet “Rodeo;” Sibelius – Violin Concerto, 3rd movement, Anna Gong, violin (Pasadena, Harvard – Westlake High School); Grieg – Piano Concerto, 1st movement, Andrew Gong, piano (Pasadena, Harvard – Westlake High School); and Mozart – Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter.”

The GYO is funded in part by a grant from the LA County Arts Commission.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the Alex Theatre box office. Students, children and seniors may purchase tickets for $12 each. Groups of 15 or more get 15% off. Formed in 1989 by a group of Glendale music lovers and school teachers, the Glendale Youth Orchestra now attracts talented young musicians in grades six through12 and college music programs from all over Los Angeles and the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys.
