The Assistance League of Glendale (ALG) recently visited La Crescenta Elementary School as part of its Authors & Illustrators program. ALG has visited all public schools in the GUSD over the years. La Crescenta Elementary was visited by authors and illustrators Tao Nyeu, Caroline Arnold, Joe Cepeda and Tracy Holczer. They visited all of the individual classrooms and gave special presentations and presented copies of some of their books to the school library. The Assistance League also gave the school library $2,500 to buy books of their choice. 

It was a fun day watching the children get interested in reading, writing and drawing with the authors/illustrators. Assistance League members accompanying the presenters were Kathy Blyth, Lesha Zarkari, Danette Erickson and Leslie Gordon.
