On March 2, Valley View students participated in a nationwide Accelerated Reader challenge, Read the Most from Coast to Coast.

Students across the country exceeded their goal of taking over two million reading quizzes in one day.

The PTA invited TV writer Patrick Rieger to speak with students to get them excited about the record breaking event. He introduced students to screenwriting and encouraged them to use their imaginations as he created a story with the help of students using pictures.

Riegier shared advice with the young writers saying that to be good writers they must read lots of books, write a little every day and to never give up.
