Dr. Seuss Introduced to Youngsters

Outfitted in the signature Cat in the Hat headgear, students at Chamlian Armenian School in La Crescenta were ready to participate in a discussion of the author’s works.

On Wednesday, March 2, Chamlian Armenian School first grade students celebrated the late Dr. Seuss’s birthday by learning about the author’s life and enjoying a special breakfast of green eggs and ham. The students were excited as they joined English Dept. Chair Anita Torosian in reciting lines from the popular Dr. Seuss book, “Green Eggs and Ham.”

To generate excitement for Dr. Seuss’s birthday and to emphasize the importance of reading, the first graders read a book by Dr. Seuss each day of the week. The students joined in a discussion about the life of Dr. Seuss with Souzy Ohanian, first grade lead teacher. Students were eager to share all the information that they had learned during the week.
