Local BSA Council prepares for gala

Getting ready for the annual gala and centennial celebration are Centennial Co-Chair Sharon James, Verdugo Hills Council Executive Director Jon Maeda and Centennial Co-Chair Bill James.

This year marks 100 years for the Boy Scouts of America and the Verdugo Hills Council, which was founded in 1922, is joining with packs across the nation in celebrating the milestone. The Council’s annual gala celebration of scouting is being held on May 8 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium and organizers are confident that the affair will be even more festive given the importance of the anniversary.
As in past years, the gala will feature dinner, beverages, entertainment and auction items.
Tickets are $100. For general or Tribute Journal information and to make reservations, contact the Council headquarters at (818) 243-6282.
