Lily Shaw participates in Nationals competition

Lily Shaw of La Cañada and a sixth grader at Mountain Avenue Elementary School was selected to participate in the Nationals’ 2010 Miss Pre-Teen Pasadena pageant held on Sunday, March 28. Lily competed in the Miss Pre-Teen division, one of four divisions that included young ladies between the ages of 7 and 19 competing in modeling routines featuring casual and formal wear. Meeting with this year’s Pasadena judging panel, Lily displayed her personality and interview skills. Personality was the number one aspect that each contestant was judged on during all phases of the competition.
There was no cost to Lily for participating in the pageant competition, which was made possible by sponsorships by Dr. Kamran Sahabi of California Dental Group, Tom Cosgrove of Crestmont Cleaners, Grayson’s Tune Town guitar instructor Hector Del Angel and family and friends. Through sponsorship, each contestant received all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support to compete.
Lily won Miss Congeniality for her age division, Miss Photogenic for her age division and she was selected as one of the top 10 finalists VVin her age group. Lily said her main reason for wanting to compete this year was to make new friends and “have a life changing experience.”
