The Cañada Auxiliary of Professionals (CAP) of Assistance League® of Flintridge (ALF) is now offering two scholarships of $1,000 for students who will be attending a two-year college or an accredited occupational program in the fall of 2025.
Eligible applicants must attend a high school in the La Cañada, La Crescenta, Montrose/North Glendale or Sunland-Tujunga zip codes, regardless of the community college or trade school the applicant will attend. Students already enrolled at Pasadena or Glendale Community College may also apply. High school applicants must anticipate graduation by June 2025 with a GPA of at least 2.5 and intend to enroll in the fall of 2025 in a two-year college or occupational program.
Applications can be printed from the ALF website www.alflintridge.org; click on “Programs,” then “Scholarships.” Applications are also available from counselors and/or scholarship staff at applicants’ schools. The application deadline is May 2.
Completed applications must be submitted to the CAP Scholarship Committee, ALF, 4607 Oakwood Ave., LCF, CA 91011, no later than May 2. Please include: a one-page typed personal essay (not to exceed 300 words) addressing career goals, achievements, talents, character traits, experiences and life activities; transcript verification of grades; résumé; and one letter of recommendation with a completed CAP scholarship recommendation form in a sealed envelope. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications are reviewed in May and awards are presented at school end-of-term awards ceremonies. Selected candidates and family will be invited to attend the September CAP meeting to be introduced to the organization’s membership.
