La Crescenta Library Hosts Children’s Exhibit

Fall colors were incorporated in a group work.

The artwork of Imagine Preschool children (ages 2 to 5 years) is currently on display at the La Crescenta Library. The children had been working in the school Atelier (or art studio) on watercolor pieces, some for about four months. The exercise was an exploration of watercolors and mixing and creating new color hues.

A group work called “Images of Fall” reflects study by the children in which the changing colors of the fall leaves were observed then recreated on paper with watercolors.

At the library, the children were “thrilled” to see their work framed and then hung on the wall. They experienced a “full-circle” of their expression through watercolors – an important experience because they learned that their voice doesn’t stay in the Atelier but is expressed to their families and communities.

The display continues through April 28.

La Crescenta Library is located at 2809 Foothill Blvd.

The young artists were at the opening of the exhibit on Sunday at the La Crescenta Library.
