The Knights of Columbus, Crescenta Valley Council 3254, recently held a spelling bee for the fourth through sixth grade students of St. Bede the Venerable and St. James the Less parishes. Council 3254, chartered in 1949 serves the catholic parishes in La Cañada and La Cresecenta. The spelling bee has been held annually for 20 years.

The winners were Riley Montelibano, first place, a fifth grade student at St. James and Madeline Higgins, second place, a fifth grade student at St. Bede.
