Media Center Ribbon-cutting
There will be a ribbon-cutting of Valley View’s new media center/computer lab on Thursday, May 11 from 6:15 p.m. (rather than 6:30 p.m. as stated before) to 7 p.m.
The new computers and TV screen are up and running and the VV family wants to show their appreciation to those who donated over the past year.

GYO Performs at Alex Theatre
The Glendale Youth Orchestra, conducted by Brad Keimach, performs its season finale concert of the 28th season on Sunday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale. The program will feature the 2017 concerto winners including Mendelssohn – “Violin Concerto, 3rd movement” (Liyi Lavinia Chen of Alhambra/Santa Monica, violin; Elizabeth Mandell Music Institute), Kabalevsky – “Piano Concerto No. 3, 1st movement” (Andrew Gong of Pasadena, piano; Harvard-Westlake School), Gershwin – “I Got Rhythm Variations” (Caleb Cheung of San Marino, piano; Maranatha High School), Bruch – “Violin Concerto in G minor, 1st movement” (Jaimie Yoon, violin of La Crescenta; Crescenta Valley High School) and Beethoven – “Symphony No. 9, 1st movement.”
The GYO is funded in part by a grant from the LA County Arts Commission.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from the Alex Theatre box office. Groups of 15 or more get 15% off. Students, children and seniors may purchase tickets for $12 each.
