Tevan Gevorkian received his Eagle Scout Award during a virtual ceremony on April 24. As his family was preparing for their candlelight vigil to commemorate the Armenian Genocide, Gevorkian was attending his Boy Scout Eagle Scout board of review via Zoom.
For his Eagle Scout Project, Gevorkian painted La Cañada High School basketball courts, a project that will not only help anyone who uses the courts but saves funds the school can use elsewhere.
The board found that all the Eagle Scout requirements had been met. He will then move on the Court of Honor to receive his Eagle rank, hopefully in person when the meetings are once again in place.
“We are very proud of Tevan and wish that you will always soar high like an Eagle to reach your goals,” said Tevan’s father Arick.
