Lincoln Elementary School first grade students in Nicolas James’ class got an unexpected treat while touring the LA Zoo to learn about animal habitats. Lincoln mom Brenda Ramirez, Senior Parks Services attendant at the LA Zoo, was on hand to assist with the tour. She invited the first graders to take a turn feeding a leaf of lettuce to the giraffes. It was part of the LA Zoo’s effort to acclimate the giraffes to the larger crowds returning to the Zoo after the pandemic.
