Chamlian Student Receives Recognition

Eighth grade Chamlian Armenian student Hagop Margossian received an honorable mention at the recent State Science Fair.

Chamlian Armenian School in La Crescenta announced that on Tuesday, May 3 eighth grade student Hagop Margossian, one of five Chamlian State Science Fair finalists, received an honorable mention award.
Hagop previously won first place at the county level competition before going off to state. His project was in the Applied Chemistry category titled, “Enzyme-catalyzed Reactions – What Affects Their Rates? What Inhibits It?”
The judging for the State Science Fair took place at the California Science Center. It spanned a period of two days, with the final winners being announced on May 3. Nine hundred and fifty finalists were present to compete from 400 different schools across the state.
In addition to congratulating the students, the school extends its gratitude to Science Dept. Chair and Science Fair Coordinator Lida Gevorkian for her unwavering commitment in preparing the students for the 2011 event.
