FSHA seniors recognized for their service

their Christian Service medals following the ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in March.

Two seniors at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy were chosen to receive medals from the Los Angeles Archdiocese for outstanding Christian service over the course of their high school careers.
Amarisa Robison and Stephanie Wetzel received their medals from Cardinal Roger Mahony at a ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles on March 16.
“I was quite surprised because I had no idea this award even existed,” said Robison.
The minimum requirement to receive the award is volunteering 200 hours.  Both Robison and Wetzel have accumulated over 500
hours throughout high school.
Robison obtained her service hours by conducting weekly Bible studies at her church, while Wetzel traveled each year for two weeks to foreign countries where she helped build houses and churches.
“I am very proud of our girls,” said Principal Sister Celeste Botello. “They are wonderful examples of what it means to give back to your community.”
