LCWC Announces Scholarship Recipients

More than 30 candidates applied for the 2020 La Crescenta Woman’s Club scholarships. Candidates were interviewed by four club member scholarship teams who carefully selected the recipients.

In addition to achieving a high GPA, each candidate was able to present his/her proven leadership skills, volunteer/membership service, work experiences, numerous study-related awards as well as outlining future goals and financial plans. 

Receiving the $1000 scholarships are Roni Margousi from Clark Magnet High School, Keegan Schmit from Crescenta Valley High School, Dulce Yessenia Hernandez from Glendale High School and Hannah Kim from Hoover High School.

The recipient of the $700 Richard Huntwork Scholarship is Chadi Saklaway from Clark Magnet High School and receiving the $700 Roberta Kurtz Scholarship for the Arts is Morgan Andrews from Clark Magnet High School.

The LCWC scholarship interview teams who participated in the selection process were Carol Huntwork, Jeanne Long, Catherine Sulzberger, Sandra Virag, Debbie Cant, Danette Erickson, Tamara Hughes, Arline Elizagaray, Barbara Leach and Carole Stonebraker.
