The Dunsmore PTA, teachers, former teachers, students and the community attended the retirement reception of Sharon Padilla on May 24 to show appreciation for the time and dedication she gave to Dunsmore Elementary kindergarten students. Padilla spent the last 26 years helping the kindergarten teachers nurture and prepare the 5 year olds for their journey to first grade.

Any student who has attended Dunsmore during that time would have come under the guidance and help of Padilla. The present kindergarten team –Karen Nagao, Cindi Gargner, Rain Gibney and Melani Arayam – said they will miss “seeing her smile and having her present in their classrooms.”

Padilla is moving retirement and will be spending more time with her family and friends.
