The inaugural Verdugo Hills Council – Boy Scouts of America Pinewood Derby championship took place on Sunday, June 4 in Verdugo Park in Glendale hosted by the Rotary Club of Glendale – Noon Cars for Cops and Kids fundraiser. Over 30 qualifying Cubs and 10 packs were represented at this race. A design contest was hosted simultaneously and Cubs and interested families from the council made submissions. 

The top three racers were Hudson Hopkins-Mason of Pack 212 from Burbank who placed first (shown in the middle of the photo), followed by Dominic Gough of Pack 310 in La Crescenta (left) and, in third place, Bennett Paik from Pack 201 in Burbank (right).
