Day Campers Work Hard, Donate to Worthy Cause

Preparing to squeeze the lemons.

The Center for Children day camp recently worked on a project in which the kids made their own lemonade by squeezing a lot of lemons. The next day they set up a lemonade stand outside the CFC office selling cups for $2 a piece along with a few snacks. At the end of the day they made about $175.

The next day they went to the Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro where they were given a lesson in marine animal care and ecology and got to visit the animals. It was a free experience; however, the children donated the $175 made from the lemonade stand to the care center. The center workers said the CFC kids were great and to come back any time.
