Valley View Elementary welcomed the parents on the first day of school with its traditional Howdy Coffee. Principal Dr. Brook Reynolds welcomed everyone and talked about the key themes for this year. Encouraging students to have a “growth mindset” and compassion were at the top of the list.

Tawni Smith, PTA president, introduced the PTA theme of “Be informed, be active, be your kids’ biggest fan. Be PTA.”

Nicci Amberg, VV Educational Foundation president, made an appeal for donations to update the school’s computer lab.

Hugs and welcome back smiles were spread as parents enjoyed coffee and sweets provided by the school.
