Chelsea Johnson Kennedy, daughter of Randy and Robin Johnson of La Crescenta, was valedictorian and student commencement speaker at the August graduation ceremony for Brigham Young University. Kennedy graduated summa cum laude with highest honor, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She is continuing her studies in the masters program for mathematics at BYU.

Kennedy attended Crescenta Valley High School, class of 2007.
