The third grade classes at Valley View Elementary spent the week learning about Patriots Day, 9/11. Not only did the students learn about the horrific tragedy, but also of the patriotism shown during that time period and the heroic actions of the military, police and fire departments.
As a tribute, the children made banners for the Glendale Police Department and Glendale Fire Station 28 that were given to each of the departments on 9/11.
GPD Officer Joe Allen came to pick up the banner that will be displayed at the Glendale station. He also took time to talk with the third graders and answer questions about law enforcement at Valley View Elementary.
