Boy Scout Troop 288, located out of American Legion Post 288 in La Crescenta, planned a year in advance to stay on board the naval ship Midway for the 10 year anniversary of 9-11. The Scouts bunked in traditional cots and witnessed the 9-11 commemoration.

Those who took part included Assistant Scout Master Antonio Martos, Jason Hur, Mark Webster, Caden McKinney, Zareh Mirzayan, Jack Kilgore, Justin Kim, Ian Galloway, Matthew Ynda, Donovan Ynda, Joshua Park, Amos Ahn, David Heckmann, Thomas Farmer, Adam Cashman, Ethan Gates, Lucas Martos-Repath and Assistant Scout Master Gabriel Ynda, Assistant Scout Master Scott Frost and Scout David Frost.
