The La Crescenta Woman’s Club is the beneficiary of the work of Kevin Tom of Boy Scout Troop 317. Tom’s Eagle Scout project was to honor the Club’s history of 100-plus years with a rock bench outside the Clubhouse. Scout leader Richard Toyon helped Tom in selecting the site for his project.

Mike Lawler of the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley has written a book that includes the history of the Woman’s Club, which was used to create a memorial plaque that will be placed in the bench, saluting the history of the LCWC.

Tom incorporated a time capsule as part of the project and Club members gathered rocks and items for it. Among the items were pictures, newspaper articles, a roster, and a LCWC past president list that stretches from the Club’s beginning to the present.
