Fremont Elementary School celebrated its traditional Patriot Day on 9-11 with Glendale fire fighters and police.  The streets were blocked off and a celebration mixed with deep remembrance that honors the country and especially those victims of 9-11.

“It was pretty emotional,” said Olympia Janet-Turchin, historian for Fremont.

She added the event was made even more special this year with the number of fire fighters in attendance and how the children reacted to them.

“There were quite a few trucks that came rolling down the street.  And then the firefighters stayed after the [ceremony] and hung out with the kids,” she said.
