Boy Scout annual recruitment meeting

The Second Year Webelos Scouts, Den 6, of Pack 302 extends an invitation to its first pack meeting of the year at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6:45 p.m. in the Monte Vista Elementary School auditorium. First through fourth grade elementary school boys interested in learning more about Cub Scouting with Pack 302 are invited to attend.

Pack 302 has Webelos from several local schools. Webelos is the last level in Cub Scouting, and over the years the boys have enjoyed hikes in the Deukmejian Wilderness Park, in the Verdugo Mountains, up in the Angeles National Forest, and Joshua Tree. They have gone camping locally in the local San Gabriel Mountains and at Camp Verdugo Oaks, and as far away as Joshua Tree and Catalina Island, at Camp Cherry Valley. They also have built and launched rockets at the Rocket Academy, and learned to whittle using bars of soap.

Boys interested in learning more are encouraged to attend the meeting on Friday night. Monte Vista is located at 2620 Orange Ave. in La Crescenta.
