Eric Peterson, 11, a Boy Scout with Troop 319, stopped by the offices of the Crescenta Valley Weekly newspaper on Friday with his family and Pete Simpson, assistant scoutmaster, who is also the merit badge counselor for journalism. Eric’s visit helped meet the requirements for his journalism merit badge. Part of the requirements state that Scouts must visit a newspaper or news magazine. Eric also wrote some articles in preparation for the Blue Eagle, an annual newspaper. This is the first merit badge that Eric will earn.

Eric has been with the Scouts almost six years. Some of his favorite activities are camping, earning merit badges and learning new things.

Eric said that he enjoys reading the CV Weekly.
