Jana Wells, a fifth grade teacher at Dunsmore Elementary, was the proud recipient of a $500 grant from Delta Kappa Gamma’s (DKG) Alpha Upsilon chapter. Chapter member Marion Darling presented the grant.

DKG is an honor society of key women educators who promote professional development and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Alpha Upsilon offers mini grants to classroom teachers to support their programs and to enhance students’ classroom experience.

Thanks are extended to Beebe Neutzmann, a former local teacher and longtime member of Alpha Upsilon, who gifted a sizable donation to help provide scholarships to current and new teachers.

Wells is planning on using her $500 grant to purchase nonfiction books to enhance her classroom library.
