Adventist Health Glendale to Celebrate Armenian Christmas
Dozens of patients, staff and community members will gather on Jan. 3 at Adventist Health Glendale to celebrate Armenian Christmas.
His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, who leads the Western Diocese Armenian Church, will bless holy water and hundreds of gata bread, an Armenian sweet bread traditionally prepared at Christmas, for the Armenian Christmas celebration.
The celebration takes place from noon to 1 p.m. at Adventist Health Glendale, West Tower Lobby, 1509 Wilson Terrace, Glendale.
Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Morning
All are invited for an “open gate” at the Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Visitors can come to the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace, enjoying the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers, bring your camera to capture the early morning light and citizen scientists, bring your iNaturalist app to add to the wildlife sightings!
An Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy intern will be available to answer questions and show this community resource.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels event. Sorry, no pets please.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those with mobility issues who require a closer parking spot can contact RosemontFriends@gmail.com. Wear sturdy shoes to walk the trail.

Community Meeting on Urban Art Program Plan
A discussion on the Urban Art Program Plan, unanimously approved by the Glendale City Council in August 2018, will be held on Jan. 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are invited to learn what was accomplished in 2019 and find out what’s to come in 2020.
This event will be held at the Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard St. in Glendale. It is sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission through funding from the Urban Arts Program. To register, visit https://tinyurl.com/rwkymbt.
