Feeding My Attitude of Gratitude
The generosity of our readers never ceases to amaze me. Over the years I have had readers who drew cartoons specifically for this paper (“CV Kids”), wrote for this paper and shot photos for this paper – at no charge. I’ve had readers who donated a generator for our annual “float” in the Montrose Christmas Parade and even said we could use their truck to deliver the papers if we ran into a problem.
Last Friday I availed myself of another generous offer – to take my crew to the Magic Castle in Hollywood, a trip made possible by the generosity of one of our readers.
Since day one, Paul has been one of the primary cheerleaders of Crescenta Valley Weekly. Though disappointed at the closing of the Crescenta Valley Sun, he said that he basically never looked back once the CV Weekly hit his driveway. He has shared interesting information that we, in turn, have shared with our readers and given us story leads that have turned into nice stories. When he offered to host our group for lunch, I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough.
Coming out of a trying, challenging year, an afternoon over at the Magic Castle set the tone for a year that I know will be just, well, magical.
Thank you, Paul, for making this possible.
