CVWD Hosting Meeting
The Crescenta Valley Water District will be hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss with staff members the upcoming construction of an eight-inch water main on the 3000-3100 blocks of Santa Carlotta Street and Cloud Avenue between Paraiso Way and Santa Carlotta Street. Local residents are invited to join us for discussion and refreshments.
The meeting will be held at the intersection of the Santa Carlotta Street and Cloud Avenue, La Crescenta from 6 p.m. to 7:30 pm.
Public Invited to CVCA Meeting
The Far North Glendale Homeowners group of the Crescenta Valley Community Association meets Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6:45 p.m. in the Community Room of the La Crescenta Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd. Anyone who lives north of Honolulu Avenue between Lowell and Pennsylvania avenues and are concerned about quality of life issues join us. ‘Montrose’ Book Signing
Montrose is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and the kickoff is the release of a book on the history the community. Author Robert Newcombe will give a talk on Montrose’s origins and will sign copies of his new book, “Montrose.” The first opportunity to buy the book will be at the meeting of the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley on Monday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Center for Spiritual Living, 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta. A second Montrose program will be on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard St., Glendale.
Dash Training Continues
Training for Glendale’s Downtown Dash (5K), provided by All About You! Wellness BootCamp, is welcome to runners and walkers. Each training session will be followed by a mini-lecture designed to inform participants on running techniques and how to remain injury-free throughout training.
Training is every Sunday through March 3 at Chess Park in Glendale, 227 N. Brand Blvd.
The cost is $40 that includes a free training T-shirt, weekly training run/walks, stretches, lectures, training schedules, and the camaraderie of group training. One hundred percent of the registration fee will be donated to the Downtown Dash Fundraising efforts to support Glendale Adventist Medical Center Stroke Services in the community.

CV Town Council Meeting Tonight
The Crescenta Valley Town Council meeting is tonight, Thursday, Jan. 17 at the La Crescenta Library at 7 p.m.
On the agenda is a presentation on an Eagle Scout project to improve the southwest corner of Orange and Rosemont avenues; an update from the Crescenta Valley Water District; information on “Prepare for the Big One,” an emergency preparedness event; plus public comments and more.

710 Extension Meeting Planned
The 710 Freeway extension plan includes a 4.5-mile tunnel to connect the Long Beach (710) and Foothill (210) freeways. Surrounding city leaders have gone on record with a litany of questions and concerns about the project. Learn how this project could compromise the Crescenta Valley at a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rosemont Middle School Auditorium. Caltrans is schedule to making a presentation.
