The Glendale Teachers Association and the Glendale Unified School District are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached regarding 2011-2012 furlough days.
There will be no furlough days for the 2011-2012 school year.
Therefore, students will be at school on March 16 and April 24, 2012. Additionally, teachers will be on duty on June 15, 2012, which is a student-free day.
Teachers will receive a separate pay warrant for furlough day-related deductions. The March 2012 pay warrant should reflect teachers’ regular salary rate without furlough day deductions.
The tentative agreement between GTA and GUSD rescinds two of the 2011-2012 furlough days and defers the third to the 2012-2013 school year. There will now be a total of five furlough days on the 2012-2013 school calendar. Actual furlough dates are yet to be determined.
Negotiations regarding the 2012-2013 furlough days are ongoing.
Both parties look forward to ratification by GTA membership and subsequent approval by the Board of Education.
GTA will be sending its members voting materials and instructions, soon.
