SCE at CVTC Meeting
Southern California Edison representatives will be at this evening’s CV Town Council meeting to discuss their response to recent windstorms. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library.
Also on the agenda are first responder’s reports; a presentation proclaiming Jan. 13, 2012 as Korean-American Day; public comments and community announcements; and the introduction of Tyler Wright, CEO of the YMCA of the Foothills.
All are welcome to attend.

Relay for Life Plans

The 12th Annual Foothills Relay For Life team captain meeting is tonight, Thursday, at 6 p.m. at the J’s Maids office, 3550 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta. This year’s event will be held on May 12-13 at Clark Magnet High School.

Brand Park is Going to the Dogs
The first 2012 “Third Saturday of the Month Wilderness Workday” takes place on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Deukmejian Wilderness Park.
Take part in a morning of tree planting, watering, weeding and more.
Heavy rain will cancel this event.
Deukmejian Wilderness Park is located at 3429 Markridge Road in La Crescenta.
Also, Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation is holding its “Happy Tails on Happy Trails” event on Saturday, Jan. 28. Hikers are invited to hike the Verdugo Mountains with their favorite four-legged friends (dogs) from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. as Brand Park becomes “Brand Bark.”
All (dog) participants must be on a leash. Meet at the Japanese Tea Garden and walk the fire roads with board members of the Foundation.

Monte Carlo Night
On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m., the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce and the Sunland-Tujunga Elks Lodge is holding its annual Monte Carlo Night at 6 p.m. at the Lodge.
This fundraising event offers fun, entertainment, food and drink and a live auction offering many desirable gifts.
Admission is $25 that includes dinner and $200 in gaming script.
Anyone interested in purchasing a sponsorship for $100 will receive two admission tickets, including dinner for two, and $700 worth of gaming script.
