Chevy Chase Drive and Garfield Avenue in Glendale, Glendale police responded to a call concerning a man who brandished a knife at a bicyclist. According to reports, the bicyclist, 37, from Glendale stated a van was behind him and honking the horn repeatedly while riding on Palmer Avenue near Adams Street. The cyclist stopped at a stop sign and yelled, “What?” The vehicle passed him and the male sitting in the front passenger seat displayed a very large knife and yelled out words that he did not understand.
The cyclist was concerned for his safety although the passenger did not reach out and try to assault him with the knife. An officer responding to the incident located the suspect vehicle and detained the occupants, a Glendale female driver, 45, and her 15-year-old son. A search of the vehicle revealed an approximate 10-inch knife with a four-inch blade located in the center console.
The victim positively identified the male and the knife. The minor was placed under arrest for exhibiting a deadly weapon in a rude, angry, and threatening manner (417(a)(1) PC). The minor was issued a citation and released to his mother at 4:37 p.m.

2900 block of Mayfield Avenue in La Crescenta, cash and coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
1100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a person/persons entered the business at the location, pried open a cash register drawer and pulled on an electrical device attached to the safe. The employee arrived at work in the morning and noticed the damage. Nothing was taken; the cash in the register had been placed in the safe prior to the employees leaving the night before. The burglary occurred overnight.
1000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a person/persons attempted to gain access to the back door of a business by prying a locked side gate overnight.
1000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, when a man arrived at work he noticed the bathroom door at the business had been smashed. He also noticed pry marks on the door jamb and additional pry marks inside the door. The interior locking mechanism for the double-keyed deadbolt was on the floor. Rooms in the business had been ransacked. The owner reported a revolver had been stolen overnight.

3000 block of Encinal Avenue in La Crescenta, a wall on property owned by the Crescenta Valley Water District was vandalized with spray painted graffiti overnight.
Mile Marker 50.50 Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest, a backpack with clothes was stolen and the driver’s side front and rear windows were shattered on a vehicle between Jan. 16 and 18.

2100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, a man entered a business, reached over the counter and grabbed a box that contained an Apple iMac computer. He then exited the business at 8 p.m.
