There was a gathering of friends and family of Elaine Park on Sunday at the area in Malibu where her abandoned vehicle was found a year ago.
Jayden Brant of Origin Investigations, who has been investigating Park’s disappearance, announced a reward of $140,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Park. An earlier reward of $500,000 expired in September on Park’s birthday. The family hopes this new reward, which is made possible by other donors, will help bring evidence to light that leads them to the CVHS graduate.
The new reward, with the conditions specified by the donors, also has an expiration date. The reward deadline is June 1, 2018 at 11:59 p.m., according to a prepared statement.
Park had been visiting her boyfriend in Calabasas. Her vehicle was found parked along Pacific Coast Highway. Her personal items were found in the vehicle, the windows were rolled down and the keys were in the ignition.
Park is now 21 years old. The area where the vehicle was found has businesses and homes nearby. There is hope that surveillance footage may have captured her car near 26048 PCH between Jan. 28, 2017 at 6:20 a.m. and Feb. 2, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.
According to the released statement from the investigation team, a photograph and a video of the location have been found and are being analyzed.
Park’s car is a charcoal gray 2015 Honda Civic.
