Feb. 1

2200 block of Saranne Street in La Cañada, a tool box containing an embalming kit was stolen and the rear door window of a vehicle was smashed overnight. 

Jan. 31

2100 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, while a man was shopping at Ross Dress for Less he placed his cellphone in the shopping cart and left it for a “brief” moment. When he returned, the cellphone was gone. He asked two men who were standing a few feet away if they took his phone. They told him they did not. 

The theft occurred at 2:30 p.m.

2300 block of Florencita Drive in Montrose, a woman parked her vehicle in her building’s garage and was uncertain if she locked the doors to her car. When she returned, she found the interior of the car ransacked and several items missing. Surveillance footage showed a suspect wearing a backpack and possibly a camouflage outfit examining several vehicles parked in the garage. The suspect went to the victim’s car that appeared to be unlocked. 

The theft occurred at 2:31 a.m.

2300 block of Montrose Avenue in Montrose, a man reported that while he was in his kitchen he heard the sound of glass shattering. He investigated and found a living room window shattered but found no object that caused it to shatter or was used to shatter it. 

The incident occurred at 11:03 p.m.

2400 block of Florencita Avenue in Montrose, personal paperwork was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. 

2300 block of Mira Vista Avenue in Montrose, a woman parked her vehicle in front of her apartment building at 5 p.m.When she returned the next morning she noticed several items on the floor of her vehicle that had been in the console. A remote for the apartment gate, a gold bracelet and other items were stolen overnight. 

4900 block of Del Monte Road in La Cañada, personal paperwork was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. 

4900 block of Hampton Road in La Cañada, personal identification, a diaper bag, children’s backpack, toddler’s hiking shoes and other items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, a woman reported that after a visit from her ex-husband she realized several missing personal items had been taken from her purse between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
