Cause of Death Released in Murder/Suicide

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office has released the cause of death for murder/suicide victims David and Carl Cervantes, both 60 years old.

Glendale police were called to Northwoods Lane, between Ramsdell and Pennsylvania avenues, in La Crescenta at 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 6. Investigators discovered David inside the home. According to the coroner, death was due to “blunt craniofacial trauma.” His death has been listed as a homicide.

About 45 minutes after GPD arrived at the Northwoods home, they were contacted by the California Highway Patrol that reported finding a victim of suicide at the Ventura (134) Freeway. The decedent was David’s brother Carl.

The victim had jumped from the 134 transition to the Glendale (2) freeway. According to the coroner, the cause of death was blunt force injuries and the death is considered a suicide.
