CV Town Council Meets Tonight
The Crescenta Valley Town Council meets tonight, Thursday, at 7 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library. Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works will be presenting a general overview on the sediment placement site, flood control maintenance and the work that has been done to protect the neighboring communities after the recent fires.
All community members are welcome to attend CVTC meetings. Those who have questions, comments or concerns can email contact@thecvcouncil.com or speak during a monthly CVTC meeting.

Glendale Elections on CVCA Agenda
The Crescenta Valley Community Association will meet Thursday, Feb. 22 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room at the La Crescenta Library. Register Now for CERT Class
The next CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) class is in March. CERT provides training on how to respond in an effective manner following a natural disaster. Classes are free to attend. Class schedule is Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday beginning March 3. Participants must attend all five class days to get certification. Classes are held at Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, 4554 Briggs, La Crescenta. Class will fill up quickly.

Friedman Presents Future of LA
Assemblymember Laura Friedman will be presenting a town hall meeting on transportation in Los Angeles. The meeting will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Glendale Transportation Center, 400 W. Cerritos Ave. in Glendale.

GCC Hosts Opening of New Building
Glendale Community College is hosting a ceremonial launch of its new Sierra Vista Building today, Thursday, Feb. 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event features speakers, refreshments and open house tours.
Sierra Vista Building is a centralized location for student services along with additional classroom and lab spaces. The three-story, nearly 95,000 square-foot building will house Admissions and Records, Academic Counseling, Career Services, Assessment, Financial Aid, Transfer Center, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services and International Students Office. The Sierra Vista Building is the final project of the Measure G bond.
Glendale Community College is located at 1500 N. Verdugo Road in Glendale.

Wilderness Workday at Deukmejian
All are invited to the local Happy Place – Deukmejian Wilderness Park – on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 8 a.m. until noon. The City of Glendale
Community Services and Parks Dept. is hosting its monthly wilderness workday. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and calming. The task is to keep the park free of the invasive weeds and to water the recently planted trees. Wear sturdy shoes, comfortable clothes and garden gloves (long pants and sleeves are recommended). Tools will be available.
