3100 block of Markridge Road in La Crescenta, a man reported returning home to find his front door had been pried open. He entered his home to find the water faucets had been left on and the entire house was flooded.
In addition, all the furniture and sinks had been smashed. A portable safe containing jewelry was stolen. The man reportedly told deputies he had several business disputes but had no idea who would have done this to his home. The burglary occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Feb. 13
900 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge, a 65-year-old Ventura man was arrested for driving under the influence and suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. Deputies responded to a call of a possible drunk driver. They witnessed a big rig on Foothill Boulevard. The license plate of the truck matched that reported by the witness. After an investigation, deputies allegedly discovered a substance appearing to be methamphetamine in a plastic bag on the floor of the big rig. The man was arrested at
9:05 p.m.
1000 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada, three people were arrested after it was discovered they appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and were in possession of stolen property.
Deputies stopped a vehicle for expired license plates. A deputy reported the driver appeared to be under the influence. Deputies discovered a stolen license plate and laptop computer in the vehicle. The driver, a 58-year-old Stanton man, said he did not know where the items came from and allegedly admitted to ingesting cocaine and heroin three hours prior. A passenger, a 41-year-old Studio City man, allegedly told deputies he did not know where the items came from and had ingested methamphetamine five hours prior. The second passenger, a 35-year-old La Cañada woman, allegedly told officers they had spent the night in the mountains doing drugs.
The three were arrested at 7:20 p.m.
