LCPC Parent Education announced its annual gala Laissez Les Bons Temps Bouler! A Mardi Gras Masquerade, on Saturday, March 1 at The Castaway in Burbank. This will be a fun-filled night of delicious food and live entertainment that will raise money for ongoing LCPC Parent Ed programming. Additionally, 10% of all net proceeds will go to Door of Hope, a non-profit organization located in Pasadena dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of families who have lost their housing due to the Eaton Fire. With a focus on low and very low-income families, Door of Hope provides a way forward for those who are on the brink of homelessness. This year’s gala will also be highlighting and financially blessing another local non-profit, Pasadena Young Lives, a multi-faceted, faith-based ministry serving teen mothers. As a bonus to the night, Nanette Brown will be honored for 30 years of teaching at LCPC Parent Education. Brown, a mom of seven and grandmother of seven, has been blessing classes for decades with her time-tested wisdom, vulnerable candor and deep compassion for others.

Since 1978, Parent Education has been a bedrock in the community, bringing together parents and caregivers and strengthening families through education, love and support. The program strives to encourage loving and effective parenting, concepts of human development, strategies for building stronger families and an appreciation for the uniqueness of both parent and child. Over 46 years, the Parent Education program has experienced continued growth and expanded impact. It now has classes for parents from birth through young adult and even grandparenting!

To ensure the continued work of Parent Education and its growing impact on families far and wide, the organization is asking for the support of the local community. The program relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors as tuition alone does not cover its operational costs. Supportive community members are asked to consider underwriting a portion of this important event. These gifts will ensure the continued mission of Parent Education benefiting families, community and its philanthropic partners. The annual fundraiser on March 1 and will feature an online auction Feb. 26 – March 1. Additionally, for the first time Parent Ed is offering business ads for purchase. All business ads will be printed in the gala program and can be purchased online.
