Lincoln Elementary Holds Talent Show

London Jaramilla

The annual Lincoln Elementary talent show took place on Jan. 29. Lincoln first grade teachers Melinda Burkhart and Nicolas James worked with the talented students for four weeks to get the students ready for the big night. Tony Ohanian, computer teacher, was musical director for the evening, and Principal Barbara Fariss worked the box office. Student council members Evan Park, Kayla Boghozian, Leon Ko, Ariana Abedi and Ivy Levasseur worked backstage as stage hands. The master of ceremonies was Keira Conaty who introduced all the talent and kept the show running on a smooth schedule. Special thanks goes to the PTA moms who ran the bake sale with proceeds supporting the school’s ASB.

Kyrie Felchlin & Banana

The show consisted of 27 acts that featured a variety of talent. Some highlights from the show were James’ first grader students singing a traditional Greek folk song “Fengaraki Mou Lambro” in Greek, which translates to “My Little Shining Moon.”

The musical “Wicked” was very popular with students this year. Honour Latukef and Chloe Lee cast a spell on the audience; each chose a song from the popular film. London Jaramilla performed a tap dance routine, Christopher Charalambous entertained the audience with his rendition on piano of “He’s a Pirate” from the film “Pirates of the Caribbean,” Lily Koo wowed with her tae kwon do routine, Kyrie Felchlin brought the laughs with her ventriloquist act called “Banana Speaks” and Porter Brown & Vivi Moreau brought down the house with a hip hop dance that had the crowd up on their feet cheering for more.

All of the students worked hard to entertain their parents and classmates with another outstanding performance.
