Being on the Lookout

Robin Goldsworthy is the publisher of the Crescenta
Valley Weekly. She can be
reached at robin@cvweekly.com
or (818) 248-2740.

I often hear from many of our readers and advertisers about the value of the CV Weekly – that it is a reliable, responsible source of information. Whether it is the historical perspective that Mike Lawler provides in our Viewpoints section, the information on our schools and students found in our Youth section, the local news presented in our News section or the happenings within our nonprofit groups located in our Between Friends section, CV Weekly is proud to produce this superior product week after week.

Inasmuch as you have come to rely on us for nearly nine years, we rely on you, too. We value the advertisers who have come to realize that CV Weekly is an excellent vehicle to get the word out about their goods and services. We need our readers to visit these advertisers to let them know that their investment is appreciated … and smart.

Since day one, I have also relied upon the generosity of those readers who, despite being able to get this “free” paper anywhere around town, dig into their pockets to pay $52 a year to have the CV Weekly thrown into their driveway. I’ve said it before – this isn’t a “free” paper for me; I’ve invested time, effort and my own dollars to bring it to you every week. By paying $1 a week, our subscribers are supporting this hometown venture by ensuring the ongoing production of the paper and the employment of the locals who deliver it to you.

As I’m sure you understand, over the years there have been many changes here at the CV Weekly offices and, during these changes, it appears that we may have dropped the ball on our subscriber services. Specifically, some of the renewal invoices that were due to be mailed out got stuck and never made it to the mailbox. Consequently, some of our subscribers may have a balance due. So I’m here to alert you to keep an eye on your mailbox and look for the envelope with the CV Weekly return address. I’m hoping that your generous nature will continue and that you’ll take a minute to write a check, call the office with a credit card, or visit Paypal with your renewal fee.

If you have never taken out a subscription to the community newspaper, I urge you to consider doing so now. You’ll be ensuring the continuation of this hometown venture that benefits our entire community in so many ways.

If you need to get in touch, call the office at (818) 248-2740 and talk to Rachelle. She is a wealth of information and willing to help in any way possible. You can also email her at Rachelle@cvweekly.com.

Thank you!
