Local Bank Branch to Close
The Montrose Citibank at 2350 Honolulu Ave. will be closing its doors in June, according to Drew Benson, Citibank spokesman. Customers have received a letter informing them of the decision to close. The nearest branch after June will be at 2621 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta.
“We always take a look at our network of branches and we periodically upgrade, open and sometimes close [branches],” Benson said. Montrose Citibank has been a strong community partner allowing volunteers to use their community room for a variety of events including local organization meetings, the Montrose Christmas Parade and Oktoberfest.
Sagebrush Hearing Rescheduled
UniteLCF! released a statement on Wednesday that the Sagebrush Territory Transfer hearing of its petition scheduled for March 8 has been postponed upon request from the chief petitioners. According to Tom Smith, chair of UniteLCF!, the steps were taken to facilitate the ongoing analysis of the transfer petition by the County Committee and the two school districts. It is expected to appear before the County Committee at its next scheduled meeting, April 5.

Special LUC Meeting Planned
The CV Town Council is holding a special Land Use Committee meeting tonight, Thursday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library community room.
The purpose of the special meeting is to discuss the level of community support for a possible county-conducted survey to determine what the community wants regarding street lighting per the motion that was made and approved on Feb. 16.

Rosemont Preserve Open Gate Afternoon
An “open gate” event is taking place at the Rosemont Preserve on Sunday, March 5. This is a chance for residents to visit the Preserve and wander the trail at their own pace and enjoy the tranquil setting, the wildlife and the natural beauty. Photographers: bring your camera to capture the morning light.
The gate will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Friends of the Rosemont Preserve Committee members will be available to answer questions and present this community resource.
The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Ave. Those planning on walking the trails should wear sturdy shoes.
This event is free to the public and suitable for all ages; no reservations required. Rain cancels. Sorry, no pets please.

The Y Hosts Erdman
Pam Erdman, who has practiced psychotherapy in Pasadena for 25 years, will be making a presentation on “Motivating Youth to Succeed” on March 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. As a psychotherapist she has treated individuals, couples and families who are troubled by conflict, depression, anxiety, disintegration, and addictions (specifically eating disorders).

Glendale Tech on Tap
All are invited on Wednesday, March 8 for Glendale Tech on Tap when the discussion will focus on technologies that power small businesses. Tech on Tap meets from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moose Den in Glendale. Bryan Soto of LANAIR will outline how to leverage the power of IT to grow a business. Learn about new and affordable technologies that keep businesses secure and project a professional image of success.
This talk will discuss tips and tricks related to Office 365, anti-virus and malware spam protection, cloud sync files, data backup and cloud hosted services.

Rockhaven Tupperware Party
All are invited for a “kitschy fun” Tupperware party fundraiser to support the Friends of Rockhaven.
The event is on March 3 at
6:30 p.m. at the La Crescenta Library (back entrance). Forty percent of purchases from the Tupperware fundraiser catalog will benefit the historic Rockhaven property.
For those who wear their apron and pearls, there will be a wacky tacky Retro Housewife Costume Contest with Tupperware prizes. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

Utility Box Murals
The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission has issued a call for artists to apply to paint murals on City of Glendale utility boxes on April 7-9. Twelve utility box murals will be painted in downtown Glendale, along Glendale Avenue between Monterey Road and Broadway, and on Broadway between Chevy Chase Drive and Louise Street.

Brand Library & Art Center Performances
The Arts and Culture Commission is interested in providing a variety of performance experiences every Friday from June through August at the Brand Library & Art Center Outdoor Plaza, 1601 W. Mountain St. in Glendale. The Commission encourages applications from both new and established artists and performance groups in any style of live music performance.
