Safer At Home Explained

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger announced a new order titled “safer at home.”
“There are no ands, if or buts this is an order,” said Los Angeles Mayor Gil Garcetti
The order applies within the County of Los Angeles Public Health Jurisdiction that will begin oat 11:50 p.m. on March 19 and continue through April 19.
This Order does not prohibit any individual or family from outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, shopping at essential businesses including grocery stores and restaurants offering delivery, drive-thru or carry out service.
All indoor malls, shopping centers , playgrounds and non-essential businesses are to close. Essential businesses are to stay open;, they include grocery stores, certified farmers’ markets and produce stands, supermarkets, food banks, convenience stores and other establishments engaged in the retail sale of canned food, dry goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, pet supply , water, fresh meats, fish and poultry, and any other household consumer products (such a as cleaning or personal care products).
There are no plans to stop Metro transportation.
