Glendale Police Detectives Arrest Organized Retail Theft Suspects

In March, Glendale Police Dept. detectives arrested three suspects in connection with an organized retail theft operation targeting stores across Los Angeles County.

Between January and February 2025, detectives linked Cheyla Ramirez, 49, Ruben Lepiz Campos, 19, and Rogelio Soriano, 27, all of Los Angeles, to at least five grand thefts in Glendale and five additional incidents throughout Los Angeles County.

The suspects worked together to target Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores to steal large amounts of merchandise, which investigators determined was being resold for profit.

On March 3, Glendale detectives received an alert that Ramirez’s vehicle had entered the city of Glendale. Working with TJ Maxx store investigators, Glendale Police Dept. Downtown Policing Unit officers observed Ramirez and Campos shoplift from the store. Officers arrested both suspects, then recovered nearly $2,000 in stolen merchandise. A search of Ramirez’s vehicle revealed additional suspected stolen merchandise, burglary tools used to defeat security sensors and a notebook detailing resale transactions.

Detectives continued their investigation and, on March 11, served search warrants at two residences in Los Angeles. During the operation, Glendale detectives arrested suspect Rogelio Soriano and recovered approximately $6,700 in additional stolen merchandise.

Ramirez, Campos and Soriano were all arrested for organized retail theft and other associated crimes. The investigation is ongoing. Detectives will work with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to assist in the successful prosecution of these individuals.
