After much anticipation, Sprouts in La Cañada opened its doors on Wednesday, after a soft opening on Tuesday.

The grocery stores officially opened its doors at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. The first 300 customers who made purchases were given coupon booklets for 10 free sandwiches. Free reusable bags were also provided to purchasing customers while supplies lasted.

Tuesday’s event allowed customers to browse through the natural and organic products in the store. Customers were also provided with free samples of goods, including sandwiches and sodas.

Merchandise available at the grocery store ranges from natural cleaning supplies, vitamins and wine, to organic eggs, other farm-fresh produce, and natural meat and seafood, according to the Sprouts website.

Sprouts is located at 920 Foothill Blvd., the former site of Sport Chalet.
