March 18

2800 block of El Caminto Street in La Crescenta, a homeowner reported finding black paint on the ground of his landscaping. He believes the vandalism was done by a family member who threw paint onto the landscape. The resident’s surveillance video captured the relative committing the vandalism by throwing paint onto the resident’s vehicle earlier in the month as well as capturing video of him doing the same type of vandalism at another property.

The vandalism on the landscaping occurred between 2 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

 

March 17

Angeles Crest Highway, mile marker 34.14 in the Angeles National Forest, a driver reported that she had parked her vehicle at the location and went for a hike. When she returned to her vehicle she attempted to unlock the driver’s side door with her key but after several attempts was not able to open the door. After taking a closer look she found the door handle mechanism had been damaged. Nothing was found to be missing from the vehicle.

The incident occurred between 11:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

 

March 15

2700 block of Community Avenue in La Crescenta, the glass on the front door window of a home was shattered. It did not appear anyone made entry into the home between 12:47 p.m. and 12:57 p.m.

 

2400 block of Prospect Avenue in Montrose, a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight.

 

March 14

4400 block of Saint Francis Place in La Cañada Flintridge, a resident reported that about 2:30 a.m. he heard a car alarm activate near his home. The alarm activated three times. He looked out the window and saw the source of the alarm – a four-door light colored vehicle, possibly a Ford Expedition. When he checked his unlocked vehicle the next morning he found several items had been stolen.

The theft occurred overnight.

 

March 6

Big Tujunga Canyon Road/Trail Canyon Road in Angeles National Forest, a driver parked his vehicle at the location, went for a hike and when he returned found that the rear window of his vehicle had been smashed. Several items including personal information and computer equipment were stolen.

The vehicle burglary occurred between 10 a.m. and 12:49 p.m.
