Cheers to the Glendale City Council Candidates

On Monday night, the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce held our Glendale City Council candidates forum at the Sparr Heights Community Center and it was a great success. All six city council candidates – Incumbents John Drayman and Dave Weaver, Rafi Manoukian, Mike Mohill, Garen Mailyan and Chahe Keuroghelian – were there and answered all of the questions that we presented to them with candor and civility. Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce board member Alfonso Milanese from Callaway Real Estate was the moderator and presided over the event with professionalism and just enough humor to keep the candidates on their toes. The Chamber would like to thank all of the city council candidates for participating in our event and coming up “the hill” to meet us where we live!

Don’t forget that we are heading to the polls on April 5, so be sure you make an informed decision. Log onto Glendalevotes.org, created by the City of Glendale, that will give you all the information you need. You can find voting locations, meet all the candidates and learn about the special ballot measure.

Upcoming Events:

On Wednesday, April 6 we’ll host our April mixer at the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce office. We will be honoring some great running athletes from Rosemont Middle School! You will want to hear their story!

On Saturday, May 7 it’s our first Artwalk of 2011. Come stroll the beautiful streets of Montrose and enjoy the art presented by artists from around Southern California.

On Thursday, May 12 we have our Scholarship Fundraiser and Save the Verdugo Hills Golf Course Par 3 Masters Golf Tournament! We would love to see everyone out there supporting our local high school students and joining our campaign to help save the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.
