In Brief

Vineyard Workday Planned

The StoneBarn Vineyard Conservancy will have a vineyard event at Deukmejian Wilderness Park on Saturday, April 2 from 8 a.m. to noon. The vines are bursting out all over, and need training on the trellising, a little leaf pruning, and some judicious weeding.

This will also be the start of planting of the historic vines that have been collected from cuttings of vines recently discovered in Dunsmore Canyon and from remnants of old vineyards around the valley. The Conservancy welcomes the public’s help in accomplishing these projects, as well as visiting the expanded commemorative vineyard.

Please bring a hat, water bottle, pruning shears, shovel, pick, bucket and gloves. Refreshments will be served at conclusion.
